Pound Inggris Turun Karena Inflasi Inggris Bertahan Stabil

Pada hari Kamis, 15 Februari, pound Inggris sedikit menurun nilainya, turun di bawah $1,26 dibandingkan dengan dollar AS setelah data CPI Inggris terbaru dirilis. Angka-angka tersebut mengurangi kekhawatiran tentang meningkatnya tekanan inflasi.   

Untuk bulan Januari, tingkat inflasi tahunan di Inggris tetap konsisten di 4%, sedikit lebih rendah dari perkiraan 4,2%. Bank of England (BoE) memperkirakan kenaikan menjadi 4,1% dalam perkiraan inflasi baru-baru ini. Namun, data tersebut juga mengindikasikan penurunan pertumbuhan upah yang lebih lambat dari perkiraan selama bulan-bulan terakhir tahun 2023, menyiratkan periode pendinginan yang lebih lama untuk pasar tenaga kerja Inggris. Akibatnya, Bank of England mungkin akan menunda penurunan suku bunga. 

Informasi ekonomi Inggris yang akan datang termasuk angka-angka PDB Q4, dengan para ahli pasar memprediksi penurunan sebesar 0,1%, yang secara teknis akan menjerumuskan Inggris ke dalam resesi.
