Tingkat Harga Kebutuhan Pokok dan Bahan Bakar Naik 

Meningkat dengan stabil, tingkat inflasi Afrika Selatan mencapai puncak 5 bulan sebesar 5,9% di bulan Oktober. Mendekati batas atas dari lingkup yang ditargetkan oleh South African Reserve Bank, lonjakan ini terutama disebabkan oleh kenaikan biaya makanan, transportasi, perawatan kesehatan, dan biaya restoran dan hotel. Meskipun begitu, inflasi inti turun ke level terendah dalam 14 bulan terakhir di 4,4% setelah mengeluarkan komponen-komponen yang lebih berubah-ubah seperti makanan dan energi.
