インフレ率、横ばいの1.7％ 

2023年10月のスイスの年間インフレ率は横ばいの1.7%となり、市場予想と一致した。消費者物価指数（CPI）は前月から0.1％上昇し、0.1％の下落局面から反転した。前月比0.1％の上昇には、暖房用燃料や航空輸送価格の上昇など多くの要因が関与した。また、女性用コート・ジャケットや輸入の赤ワインの価格も上昇した。一方、ホテル、ガソリン、青果物の価格は下落した。 

ユーロ圏の消費者物価指数（HICP）は、欧州連合（EU）基準の指標であり、スイスと他のEU加盟国のインフレ率と比較した。HICPの速報値によると、スイスの物価は、3ヵ月連続で0.1％上昇し、全体的なインフレ率のデータが比較的低いにもかかわらず、インフレが緩やかに上昇していることを示した。これは前年同期比で2.0％の上昇に該当する。しかし、スイスのインフレ率に関して優れた記録を維持しており、この点では常にドイツやユーロ圏諸国に比べて優れている。

スイスフラン、1カ月ぶりの安値から反発 

外国為替市場のスイスフラン・米ドル相場は、0.9を上回り、10月31日に記録した4週間ぶりの安値を更新した。スイスフランの上昇の一因は、スイス国立銀行（SNB）の強力な介入にある。SNBはスイスフランを支え、エネルギー価格の上昇に伴う輸入インフレの影響を緩和するため、スイスフランの外国為替を大量に売却した。SNBのデータによると、9月の外貨準備高は過去5年以来の低水準となった。
