雇用情勢が堅調、RBA利上げを後押し

オーストラリア失業率、過去3ヶ月で最低 

9月、オーストラリアの失業率は、平均を下回る3.6％で、過去3ヵ月で最低となった。この数値は市場予想の3.7％より低く、8月の3.7％より改善した。この結果、失業者数は1.98万人減少し、失業者総数は52.05万人に達した。同時に、若年層の失業率は8.1％と安定していた。 

また、雇用者数は6,700人増の1,411万人にとどまり、市場予想の2万人増には達しなかった。これは、 8月の6.33万人増に続いての増加である。パートタイム労働者数は4.65万人大幅増加し（合計430万人）、フルタイム労働者数は3.99万人減少した（合計981万人）。

労働参加率は66.7%にとどまる

成人総人口に占める求職者数の割合で算出される労働参加率は、低下が見られた。過去最高記録となった先月の67％から、66.7％に低下した。一方、不完全雇用率、つまり他の仕事を探している人の数は、6.5％から6.4％へとわずかに低下した。 

RBA、引き続き再利上げの可能性は残す 

オーストラリア準備銀行（RBA）は、過去4ヵ月間金利を変更していない。なぜならば、RBAは、12回の利上げがインフレ水準をコントロールするのに十分だったかどうかを見極めようとしている。RBAによると、インフレ率は2025年6月までに目標の2～3％に達するという。一方、RBAは失業率の緩やかな上昇を予想し、2023年末には4％に達すると予測している。RBAは11月10日に最新の予測を発表する予定。
